Following the Welsh Government announcement on 29th May 2020, which will come into force at 8.00 a.m. on 1st June 2020, Pontnewydd Golf Club have updated the guidelines which have been supplied by Wales Golf

The Welsh Government states:

New ‘Local travel guidance ... 'as a general rule, for most people anything within about 5 miles of your home is considered local’.

The following groupings are allowed when playing golf and when travel is local.

INDIVIDUALS playing golf on their own.

TWO BALLS

  1. Two players from one household.

  2. Two players from different households

At the discretion of the golf club, play in groups of three or four-balls is permitted in the following forms:

THREE BALLS

  1. Three players from one household

  2. Two players from one household with one from another household

FOUR BALLS

  1. Four players from one household

  2. Two players from one household with two from another household

  3. One player from one household and three from another household

AT THE MOMENT WE ARE ONLY ALLOWING 2 BALLS

PLAY IS RESTRICTED TO 9 HOLES

This will be reviewed on a regular basis

Physical distancing guideline and industry guidelines must be adhered to before, during and after the round.

Congregating outside of two household groups is an offence under the new regulations.

Please note that all the regulations referred to above are from the Welsh Government.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

SEASON 2020 - 2021

WELCOME to Pontnewydd Golf Club.....

We are debatably the Oldest Golf Club in Wales, the course was established in 1875, over 140 years ago, and our aim now, as was then, is to provide quality, affordable golf to members and visitors in a safe and friendly environment. In short...

Golf  for One & All

We are officially classed as a 9 hole course, but by combining the 11 different greens and various additional tee box areas we have, by playing the course a second time it becomes an 18 hole course.

If you are a High or Low Handicap player the course will test your golfing ability and for the busy workingman or woman with little spare time and find it difficult to play a full 18 holes, we are the ideal answer, play 9 and be back at the Club House (not stranded mid course as is the case on many other "Full" 18 hole Clubs).

We are a small friendly Club, we offer a very warm welcome to all so don't delay come and play... Give us a try, you won't regret it and even if your golf is off on that day the on course views across the valley and Bristol Channel towards Ilfracombe are amazing.

We look forward to seeing you.
